Investment firm director lists 5BD for $13.8M

Medium 8712dd64432e202ec9855edad94f4053 Scott C. Newquist has listed for sale a five-bedroom, six-bath home at 300 El Brillo Way in Palm Beach for $13.8 million.

Newquist paid $7.9 million for the property in June 2002. The 12,891-square-foot home in the El Bravo Park subdivision was built in 1935. Betsey W. Hall of Fite Shavell & Associates is the agent for the listing.

Newquist is managing director of GBP Capital, a Greenwich, Conn.-based firm that focuses on investing in the life-sciences industry. He previously was a partner at Morgan Stanley & Co., where he also served as head of new business development, as a transactions specialist and as a managing director.

Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, he was executive managing director at Kidder Peabody and Co., the founder and president of Perception Advisors Inc., a partner at the money management firm Cambridge Capital Associates and founder of the Veloxco LLC, also a money management firm.

He earned a B.A. in economics from Williams College and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.

There were 235 sales in Palm Beach in 2008, with a median price of $800,000.
