Dolphins owner sells in Fort Lauderdale

Medium d4e72afb558afe3717f7de714dfddb29 H. Wayne Huizenga, Jr., and his wife, Fonda, sold a home at 1745 S.E. Eighth St. in Fort Lauderdale to 1801 SE 8th Street Land Trust LLC and 1801 Land Trust for $10,397,500 on April 3.

The 9,464-square-foot home was built in 2002.

Mr. Huizenga is president of Huizenga Holdings Inc., a Fort Lauderdale-based owner and operator of real estate properties, including the Dolphin Stadium in South Florida as well as the Miami Dolphins of the NFL. He is also a director of Bancshares of Florida Inc. and a founding board member of its subsidiary, Bank of Florida. Additionally, he currently chairs the board of the West Palm Beach-based marina and yacht refit company, Rybovich.

He has a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Tampa.

Ms. Huizenga is a trustee with the Trinity Forum, a leadership academy with offices in Washington, D.C., McLean, Va., and Royal Oak, Md. She previously worked for Procter & Gamble and the Cordis Corp.

She has degrees in both biomedical and electrical engineering from Vanderbilt University.

There were 2,905 sales in Fort Lauderdale in 2008, with a median price of $225,000.
