James S. Welzien and Roberta G. Stanley bought a five-bedroom, 5.5-bath home at 2525 N.E. 26th Ave. in Fort Lauderdale from Wed Holdings LLC for $880,000 on Nov. 20.
The 4,166-square-foot house was built in 2008 in the Fort Lauderdale East neighborhood.
Welzien is a founding partner at Cobo, Welzien, Bowers & Co., a CPA and consulting firm in Fort Lauderdale. He began his career in 1973 as an IRS agent for the U.S. Treasury Department before becoming a compliance officer for the U.S. Labor Department.
He received his bachelor's in accounting and his master's in tax from Southern Illinois University.
Stanley is a partner and lawyer at Brinkley, Morgan, Solomon, Tatum, Stanley & Lunny in Fort Lauderdale. She focuses her practice on complex marital and family law cases.
She earned her B.A. from the University of Pittsburgh in 1979 and her J.D. from Nova Southeastern University in 1983.
According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 4,192 home sales in Fort Lauderdale during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $170,000.
