Dr. Amy Van Gent bought a three-bedroom, two-bath home at 2149 N.E. 62nd St. in Fort Lauderdale from Richard G. Cuming for $395,000 on Oct. 12.

Cuming paid $340,000 for the property in July 2004. The 2,124-square-foot house in the Fort Lauderdale North neighborhood was built in 1966.

Dr. Gent is a cosmetic surgeon and the founder and medical director of Gentisse Cosmetic Surgery in Fort Lauderdale. She specializes in cosmetic surgery of the face, neck and hands.

She earned her M.D. from the Northeastern Ohio University College of Medicine in 1989. She completed her residency in general surgery at St. Luke's, her residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at St. Louis University and her fellowship at Mount Sinai Medical Center.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 120 home sales in Fort Lauderdale during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $470,500.
