The estate of Arthur H. Stock has listed for sale a three-bedroom, three-bath home at 3223 N.E. 40th St. in Fort Lauderdale for $1.55 million.
The 3,001-square-foot house, which was built in 1977, is in the Barrier Island neighborhood. Shirley Gadol of Coldwell Banker Real Estate is the listing agent.
Mr. Stock was a lifelong educator, entrepreneur, night club owner and horseman. He owned numerous New Jersey and Florida entertainment venues, including the Playpen North and South, the Royal Manor in New Jersey, the Headliner in Neptune, and along with his daughter, the Birchhill in Old Bridge. He also owned Stockland Farms in New Jersey and Colts Neck in Ocala.
He taught industrial art classes and coached basketball at several high schools throughout New Jersey. He died at his home in Wall, N.J. in Jan. 2009.
There were 2,900 home sales in Fort Lauderdale in 2008, with a median sales price of $220,000.
