Friedland and Sadock paid $425,000 for the property in May 2001. The 2,761-square-foot house, which was built in 1975, is in the Coral Ridge neighborhood.
Friedland is a lawyer who serves as professor of law at Elon University, where he is director of the Center for Engaged Learning in the Law. Prior to Elon, he was professor of law at Nova Southeastern University for 20 years. He has been a professor of law at the University of Florida, the University of Georgia, Georgia State University, the University of Miami and at the Antioch Law School and American University School of Justice in Washington.
He received a B.A. from the State University of New York at Binghamton, a J.D. from Harvard Law School, and his LL.M. and J.S.D. from Columbia University Law School.
There were 3,001 home sales in Fort Lauderdale in 2008, with a median price of $229,000.
