Richard G. Ruiter and his wife, Alice, sold a two-bedroom, three-bath condo at 6001 N. Ocean Dr. in Hollywood to Edward Evanchyk for $460,000 on March 17.

The Ruiters paid $305,000 for the 1,800-square-foot Unit #1203 in June 2001. It is part of the Renaissance on the Ocean condominium development, which was built in 2000.

Mr. Ruiter was a pilot for United Airlines until his retirement in 1989. He also served as a pilot in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.

He graduated from Oregon State University.

Sales at Renaissance on the Ocean were up 33.3 percent from 2007-08, while the median sales price fell 24.3 percent during that time.

There were 988 condo sales in Hollywood in 2008, with a median price of $150,000.
