Glenn C. Micalizio bought a four-bedroom, three-bath home at 170 Isle Verde Way in Palm Beach Gardens from Robert F. David and Lourdes David for $425,000 on Jan. 5.
The Davids paid $352,055 for the property in May 2005. The 2,449-square-foot house, which was built in 2005, was listed as high as $469,900.
Micalizio is an associate professor at the Scripps Research Institute in New York. Prior to that, he worked as a professor of organic chemistry at Yale University.
He received his B.S. in chemistry from Ramapo College in New Jersey and his Ph.D. from Indiana University. He also attended the University of Michigan.
The development at 170 Isle Verde Way, which is also known as Mirabella at Mirasol, was constructed in 2005.
Sales at Mirabella at Mirasol are down 57.3 percent from 2006-2007. The median sales price also dropped 20.2 percent during that same time period.
There were 860 condo sales in Palm Beach Gardens in 2008, with a median sales price of $268,000.
