Michael M. Maegawa and Shirley E. Gofrank bought a four-bedroom, three-bath condo at 102 Monterey Pointe Dr. in Palm Beach Gardens from Werner and Monika Frick for $500,000 on Jan. 20.
The Fricks paid $358,400 for the 2,388-square-foot condo in July 1995.
Mr. Maegawa is a representative director at Cooper-Standard Automotive, Inc. The Novi, Mich.-based company produces automotive seals, anti-noise and vibration products and fluid systems.
He previously served in various specialist and managerial capacities at General Motors and Daimler-Chrysler. He also worked at an American machine-tool maker, where he helped coordinate some joint ventures with Japanese companies.
He graduated from Doshisha University in Kyoto, Japan with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
Gofrank is founder of Gofrank and Mattina, a Rochester Hills, Mich.-based CPA firm. She founded the firm in 1988.
She received a B.A. and an M.A. from the University of Michigan. She also holds an M.S. in taxation from Walsh College.
There were 860 sales in Palm Beach Gardens in 2008, with a median price of $268,000.
