Patrick Arbor and his wife, Antoinette Vigilante, bought a two-bedroom, two-bath condo at 100 Worth Ave. in Palm Beach from Daniel S. Straus, David J. Straus and Gerhard D. Straus for $1 million on Dec. 23.
The 1,588-square-foot Unit #4020 is in the Winthrop House condo development. It was built in 1970 and is eight-stories high.
Mr. Arbor is currently a director of First Chicago Bank & Trust Co. and a principal of the trading firm Shatkin Arbor.
He started his career as a math teacher and later served as mayor of Harwood Heights, Ill.
He was a former chairman of the Chicago Board of Trade, where he also served as vice chairman and director. He has held numerous board positions in various companies and charitable institutions.
Arbor received his bachelor's degree in finance from Loyola University Chicago in 1958.
Sales at Winthrop House were down 20 percent from 2006-2007. The median sales price also fell 14 percent during that same time period.
There were 384 condo sales in Palm Beach in 2008, with a median sales price of $750,000.
