Anthony Athanas, Jr., and his wife, Maureen Kennedy, bought a three-bedroom, four bath condo at 2000 N. Ocean Blvd. in Boca Raton from Carol A. Farkas and Paul Farkas for $1.305 million on Oct. 21.
The 2,435-square-foot Unit #6050 is in the Brighton condo development.
Mr. Athanas co-owns two family-run restaurants: the Pier 4 chain and Hawthorne by the Sea.
The restaurant business was started by his Albanian-born father, Anthony Athanas, in Lynn, Mass., in 1937. Anthony Athanas, Jr., manages the company with his brothers, Michael, Robert and Paul. Their father died in 2005.
He has also invested in Outback Steakhouse of Florida Inc.
Brighton Condos, which was built in 1979, has 39 units. The median sales price in the development dropped from $1.313 million to $1.187 million from 2006-2007.
In 2008, there have been 1,168 sales in Boca Raton with median sales price of $350,000.
