Thomas A. Hethmon and Mary C. Hethmon sold a four-bedroom, 3.5-bath at 19775 Earlwood Dr. in Unincorporated Northeast Palm Beach County to Marc Steinberger and Kim Steinberger for $562,500 on August 27.
The Hethmons paid $464,000 for the property in August 2002.
The 3,190-square-foot house was built in 1999.
Mr. Hethmon has served as the vice president of safety and occupational health at Rinker Materials Corp., a manufacturer of ready-mixed concrete and producer of heavy building materials that has offices in Florida and Arizona.
He was previously director of occupational health and safety at Phelps Dodge Corp., a mining and manufacturing company. He has held key positions in the petrochemical, pharmaceutical and consulting industries and also authored several books about safety, industrial hygiene and toxicology.
He received the Kusnetz Award by the American Industrial Hygiene Association and the Champions of Safety Award from Occupational Hazards magazine.
Home sales in
Unincorporated Northeast Palm Beach dropped nearly 18 percent in 2008 versus 2007. The median sales price is down from $345,000 in 2007 to $281,000 so far this year.
