Former Florida Panthers defenseman Ruslan Salei and his wife, Bethann, sold their five-bedroom, six bath at 7061 N.W. 126th Terrace in Parkland for $1.65 million to Gregory and Gabrielle Mann on Aug. 22.

The Saleis paid $1.8 million for the home in Oct. 2006.

Originally from Belarus, Mr. Salei, 33, is a 12-year veteran of the NHL and a current defensive mainstay with the Colorado Avalanche. He joined the Avs in February by way of a trade with the Florida Panthers, where he appeared in 147 games during two seasons from 2006-08. He recorded 46 assists in his time in Florida after coming over from the Anaheim Mighty Ducks.

Originally drafted ninth overall in the 1996 NHL Draft by Anaheim, he played nine seasons with the Mighty Ducks before coming to Florida. He's appeared in 758 career regular season games and 50 post-season games, including 10 with the Avalanche after he was traded last season.

The Manns are the founders of All Points Industries Inc., a Pompano Beach-based supplier for the hurricane protection hardware market in the U.S. and the Caribbean. They founded the company in 1996.

Home sales in Parkland are down by almost 39 percent in 2008 versus sales in 2007. The median sales price has also fallen from $729,000 to $640,000 so far this year.
