Realtor spends $900K for Wellington 4BD

Jason T. Shinn and his wife, Tanya, bought a four-bedroom, three bath home at 15805 Weatherly Road in Wellington from the estate of Joann L. Schlander for $900,000 on June 26.

Scott and Joanne Schlander bought the property for $115,000 in June 2001. The 3,192-square-foot house was built in 2003.

Mr. Shinn is a realtor and the owner of Triple Crown Properties in Wellington. He has been in the real estate business since 1994, and also owns the Triple Crown Construction Group and Equestrian Management Services.

Before forming his own company, he was vice president of sales at Westrend Development, Inc., which specializes in new construction of single and multi-family homes.

He earned his bachelor's in marketing from Florida Southern College in 1991, where he also played for the basketball team.

Home sales in Wellington are down 28 percent in 2008 versus sales in 2007. The median sales price is also down from $380,000 to $324,000 so far this year.
