Former Miami Dolphins quarterback Trent Green and his wife, Julie, sold their home at 2548 Royal Palm Way in Weston for $2.125 million to David A. Barclay and his wife, Leslie, on June 27.
The Greens previously paid $2.335 million for the home in July 2007. The 6,465 square foot house was built in 2001.
A 15-year NFL veteran and a two-time Pro Bowl selection, Mr. Green was released by the Miami Dolphins on Feb. 11.
After he was traded to the Dolphins in June 2007, Green started just five games for the team last season before being placed on the injured reserve list with a concussion. After being released by the Dolphins, Green signed as a free agent with the St. Louis Rams on March 10.
Prior to coming to Miami, Green, 37, played for five seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs, earning Pro Bowl selections in 2005 and 2003. He was named the team's MVP in 2003, finishing second in the NFL with 4,039 yards passing and 24 touchdowns. He also spent two seasons with the St. Louis Rams and was a member of the Super Bowl XXIV championship team, despite suffering a serious knee injury during the preseason.
The St. Louis native made his NFL debut with the Washington Redskins in 1998 after initially being drafted by the San Diego Chargers in the eighth round of the 1993 NFL Draft. He's passed for 27,950 yards and 162 touchdowns in 117 career games in the league.
He played college ball at Indiana.
New Dolphins quarterback Josh McCown spent $1.795 million for a six-bedroom, six bath in Davie in April.
