Mignon Roscher Gardner and her husband, William, sold their five-bedroom, four bath at 1061 Grand Bahama Lane in Riviera Beach for $1,232,500 to Ronald Hill Jr. and Jeffrey Cherif on May 16.
Mrs. Gardner has been a professional painter since 1959. She specializes in portraits.
After three years of painting show horses and show dogs, she switched to painting portraits of people in 1962. She has since painted the portraits of such well-known figures as President John F. Kennedy, Princess Grace of Monaco and legendary composer Oscar Hammerstein.
She runs a winter studio in Singer Island, Fla., and a summer studio in Allentown, Pa.
She studied art at the Munchen Malschule and Royal Academy in Munich, Germany, as well as the Sorbonne in Paris and the Academia Delle belle Arte in Florence, Italy.
Home sales in Riviera Beach have dropped 37.5 percent thus far in 2008. The median sales price has also dropped $43,000 this year, from $250,000 in 2007 to $207,000 in 2008.
