Film director sells in Manalapan

Janet Jyll Johnstone, Chauncey Olcott Johnstone, and Rita Lammy Olcott Johnstone-Kockler sold a three-bedroom, 3.5 bath at 95 Spoonbill Rd. in Manalapan for $1.975 million to Steven E. Krook on May 6.
The 5,148 square foot house was built in 1973.
Janet Jyll Johnstone is a film director with three motion pictures to her credit. Her first film was the 1994
Martha & Ethel, a documentary that premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and was subsequently awarded prizes at film festivals in San Francisco and the Hamptons.
She also directed the 2002 film
Throwing Curves, followed by the 2008's
Hats Off, a film she also co-produced.
She also manages Canobie Films, Inc., which makes documentaries on contemporary social issues.
She was born and raised in Manhattan and has experienced working as an actress in New York. She attended Bard College and graduated from NYU with a degree in Journalism.
Mr. Chauncey O. Johnstone is a consultant to several medical device and pharmaceutical companies and has served as a vice president of business development at Western Medical.
Home sales in
Manalapan have risen 120 percent thus far in 2008. The median sales price, however, has dropped $1.8 million, from $3.8 million in 2007 to $2.0 million thus far in 2008.
