Richard G. Zahn and his wife, Michele, bought a five-bedroom, 5.5 bath at 3249 NE 31st Ave. in Lighthouse Point for $1.85 million from Paul S. Lacarubba on April 22.
The 4,080 square foot home was built in 2002.
Mr. Zahn is president and CEO of Hersch Reconstruction and the ZMG Corporation, a residential development company based in Longwood, Fla.
Prior to joining Hersch, he spent six years with the Glidden Paints Company and two years as a narcotics task force officer for the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office. He also spent 11 years in the Special Operations Command with the U.S. Army, beginning in 1985.
He earned his M.B.A. and his Ph.D. from Regis University in Denver, Colo., and his bachelor's in marketing from the University of Texas.
Mrs. Zahn is an executive vice president at Hersh, Inc. She joined the company in 1997 and was appointed to her current position in Nov. 2003.
She previously served as an executive manager at Allen and Associates, a nationwide executive marketing firm.
Home sales in
Lighthouse Point dropped more than 14 percent in 2007. The median sale price, however, increased $40,000 last year, from $375,000 in 2006 to $415,000 in 2007.
