Dr. David Lessen and his wife, Nicole, bought a five-bedroom, six bath at 2377 NE 28th St. in Lighthouse Point for $1,494,800 from Andrew S. Penson on May 1.

Penson paid $910,000 for the property in May 1998. The 4,145 square foot house was built in 1992.

Dr. Lessen is a board certified internist who specializes in hematology and medical oncology at the Southeast Florida Hematology and Oncology Group in Fort Lauderdale.

Home sales in Lighthouse Point dropped more than 14 percent in 2007. The median sale price, however, rose $40,000 last year, from $375,000 in 2006 to $415,000 in 2007.
