Valerie A. Storey and her husband, Philip, bought a four-bedroom, three bath at 885 NE 75th St. in Boca Raton for $1.2 million from Alick Elliot and Jean Elliot on May 2.
The Elliotts paid $342,000 for the home in Jan. 1981. The 3,012 square foot home was built in 1978.
Mrs. Storey is an assistant professor and the coordinator of the Master Program in Educational Leadership program at the Ross College of Education at Lynn University in Boca Raton. She joined the faculty in Aug. 2006.
She previously worked at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn.
She earned her Ph.D. in education leadership and policy studies from Vanderbilt (2005) and her master's in education policy, special education and psychology from Manchester University in England (1994). She received her bachelor's in education and theology from Leeds University in England ('75).
Home sales in Boca Raton dropped more than 24 percent in 2007. The median sales price also dropped $31,000 last year, from $450,000 in 2006 to $419,000 in 2007.
