Geologist buys Plantation 4BD from lawyer

Vincent Yarina and his wife, Lena, bought a four-bedroom, two bath at 10110 NW 13th Street in Plantation from Michael B. Manes and Pennee O'Toole for $552,500 on March 25.

Manes and O'Toole paid $337,200 for the 3,079 square foot house, which was built in 1999, in April 2002. It's in the Jacaranda subdivision.

Mr. Yarina is a project manager for Langan Engineering and Environmental Services. He is a licensed geologist in both Florida and Pennsylvania and also a certified Florida environmental assessor.

He has been with Langan since 1998. From 1992-1996, he worked with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection. He also served on the board of South Florida Association of Environmental Professionals.

Yarina has a degree in earth sciences from Pennsylvania State University and earned an M.S. in engineering geology from Drexel University.

Manes is a partner with Manes & Saperstein, P.A. in Fort Lauderdale. His practice includes wrongful death lawsuit, criminal defense and medical malpractice.

Home sales in Plantation dropped nearly 32 percent in 2007 versus sales in 2006. The median sales price also fell from $264,000 to $250,000.
