Richard Devick bought a three-bedroom, three bath at 6110 N. Ocean Blvd. in Ocean Ridge for $578,000 from the late William Homer Hartz Jr. and trustee Trevor K. Brewer.
The 2,444 square foot condo is in the 44-unit Pelican Cove condominium complex. The building was constructed in 1982.
Devick owns and operates UCI Paints in Fort Lauderdale. His father, Sy, started the company in South Florida in 1969.
Mr. Hartz passed away in April 2008 at age 88.
A WWII navy veteran, he was vice president of sales, a board member and partner with La Salle Street Press in Chicago.
He is an alumnus of the University of Chicago and chaired their Cancer Research Foundation.
Brewer works as senior counsel with Foley & Lardner LLP in Orlando. He specializes in business and estate planning.
He earned his bachelor's in finance from the University of Central Florida and his J.D. from the Emory University School of Law, where he was managing editor of the Emory Law Journal.
There were no sales in the Pelican Cove in 2007.
