Investment firm exec buys Wellington 5BD for $1.125M

Charles G. Phillips and his wife, Candace, bought a five-bedroom, 5.5 bath at 2990 Bent Cypress Road in Wellington from John B. and Katherine B. Eckert for $1.125 million on Feb. 11.
The Eckerts paid $975,000 for the 4,045 square foot house, which was built in 2002, in Sept. 2006.
Mr. Phillips has served as CEO of Prentice Capital Management in New York City. He joined the firm in 2005 as COO and a member of the investment team. He previously served as managing director at New York City-based Gleacher & Co. from 1991-2002 before leaving as president in 2003.
He also served on the board of directors of a number of companies such as Whitehall Jewelers, Inc., Firstlook Studios, Inc. and California Pizza Kitchen.
In the 1980's, Mr. Phillips worked in various senior management roles with Morgan Stanley.
He received his B.A. from Harvard College in 1970 and M.B.A from Harvard Business School in 1972.
Home sales in
Wellington dropped more than 33 percent in 2007 versus sales in 2006. The median sales price also dropped from $450,000 to $382,000.
