Kentucky civil lawyer spends $540K for Banyan House condo

Douglass Farnsley and his wife, Eliza, bought a two-bedroom, two bath Banyan House condo at 1225 S. Ocean Blvd. in Delray Beach for $540,000 from Barbara Clark on March 26.
Clark paid $450,000 for Unit #0540 in April 2004.
Mr. Farnsley is an attorney in the Louisville, Ky. office of regional law firm Stites & Harbison PLLC. He specializes in a number of legal areas for the firm, which has offices in four southeastern and mid-Atlantic states. He focuses chiefly on civil trial work, including the defense of professional and hospital liability claims.
He is also listed in the 2007 editions of
The Best Lawyers in America and
Kentucky Super Lawyers. He earned his J.D. from the University of Louisville (1976) and his LL.M. in Legal History from the University of Wisconsin ('80). He received his bachelor's in Political Science from the University of North Carolina ('73).
There are 64 units in the Banyan House, which was built in 1967.
Condo sales in
Delray Beach dropped 42 percent in 2007. The median sales price also dropped $46,000 last year, from $245,000 in 2006 to $199,000 in 2007.
Condo sales in the
Banyan House rose 150 percent in 2007, but the median sales price dropped $97,000, from $722,000 to $625,000.
