Miami Dolphins quarterback Josh McCown and his wife, Natalie, bought a six-bedroom, six bath at 12781 Kapok Lane in Davie for $1.795 million from Stonybrook Estates Ltd. on April 1.
The 6,500 square foot home was listed for $1.875 million.
A six-year veteran of the National Football League, McCown, 28, signed a two-year, $6.25 million deal with the Miami Dolphins on March 2. He is expected to be the starting quarterback for the Dolphins after the team parted ways with former starter Trent Green following the 2007 season. McCown most recently started nine games as a backup quarterback with the Oakland Raiders last year, passing for 1,151 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Prior signing with the Raiders, McCown saw limited action as a backup with the Detroit Lions in 2006. He spent four seasons with the Arizona Cardinals prior to his stint in Detroit, including a 2004 campaign that saw him appear in 14 games and reach career highs in yards (2,511) and touchdowns (11). He debuted with the Cardinals in 2002 after he was taken in the third round of that year's NFL draft.
A native of Jacksonville, Texas, McCown starred for three seasons at Southern Methodist University and one at then-Division 1-AA Sam Houston State.
Home sales in Davie dropped more than 29 percent in 2007. The median sales price, however, rose $6,000 last year, from $244,000 in 2006 to $250,000 in 2007.
