Merrill Lynch manager and management consultant buy in Parkland

Samuel N. and Kathleen A. Perone bought a seven-bedroom, five bath at 12280 NW 68th Court in Parkland for $1,567,322 on July 12, 2006.

The 6,796 square foot home is in the Heron Bay East community.

Mr. Perone is a managing director in Merrill Lynch's global wealth management technology group based in Jacksonville, Fla.

He was director of systems development at Merrill Lynch when the New York-headquartered company relocated more than a hundred high-technology positions in its Deerwood Park office in 1997.

Mr. Perone graduated from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, N.J.

Mrs. Perone is the president of XLNT Technologies, a management advisory and consulting services company she founded in 2001. She is also a member of the advisory board of Tekmark Global Solutions LLC in Edison, N.J.

She is the former president and CEO of WestCom, Inc. Prior to that, she held the same position at FOCAL Communications, Inc.

Mrs. Perone earned a B.A. from Rutgers.

Home sales in Parkland dropped five percent in 2007 versus sales in 2006. The median sales price also fell from $790,000 to $723,000.
