Former retail exec buys West Boca 3BD for $545K

Stewart Kasen and wife, Sandra, bought a three-bedroom, three bath in the Island at the Grove community at 7101 Dubonnet Dr. in West Boca from Harold D. and Joyce A. Sarshik for $545,000 on Feb 29.

The Sarshiks paid $370,000 for the 3,065 square foot house, which was built in 1988, in Nov. 2000.

Mr. Kasen has worked as president and CEO of S&K Famous Brands, Inc., a clothing retailer headquartered in Richmond, Va. He retired in 2007.

His long career in retail includes working for Best Products, Thalhimers and Schwarzchild Jewelers.

He currently serves as the president of the Richmond Jewish Foundation.

Mr. Kasen received a B.S. in Business Administration from Seton Hall University in New Jersey.

Home sales in West Boca dropped 27 percent in 2007 versus sales in 2006. The median sales price also fell from $292,000 to $260,000.
