Nickolas G. Carter, or popularly known as Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys, bought a five-bedroom, five bath at 6930 Long Leaf Dr. in Parkland from WCI Communities, Inc. for $1,323,435 on June 23, 2006.

The 4,699 square foot house stands on a sprawling 15,059 square foot lot in the Parkland Golf and Country Club.

Carter, 28, starred in various commercials and participated in talent shows as a child, but it wasn't until the late 1990s - when the Backstreet Boys came to be - that his career took off. Carter, the youngest member of the boy band group, was just 12 years old when they formed.

One of the best-selling boy bands of all time, the Backstreet Boys have sold over 100 million albums worldwide. Their most recent album, 2007's Unbreakable, opened at No. 7 on The Billboard 200.

Carter released a solo album, Now or Never in 2002 and has a role in the motion picture Fast Glass, which according to imdb.com, is in post-production.

Carter's younger brother Aaron Carter is also a pop musician.

In 2006, Nick Carter starred with his four siblings in "House of Carters", a reality TV show on the E! cable network.

Home sales in Parkland dropped five percent through December 2007 versus the same period in 2006. The median sales price also fell from $790,000 to $723,000.

BlockShopper Metrics started tracking home sales in South Florida in 2001.
