Chicago wealth management lawyer buys 6BD in Wellington for $700K

Medium  35 Jarrett and Kristina Bostwick bought a six-bedroom, 4.5 bath at 12405 Equine Lane in Wellington from Carl and Laurel Klein for $700,000 on Feb. 12.

The Kleins paid $597,220 for the property in March 2003. The 4,214-square foot, two-story house is in the Equestrian Club community.

Mr. Bostwick is a lawyer Of Counsel with Handler, Thayer & Duggan, LLC in Chicago. His practice focuses on wealth transfer and philanthropy planning, income tax planning, and trusts and estates.

In 2005, he was listed in Worth Magazine as "One of the Top 100 Lawyers in the United States" serving affluent families.

Prior to joining Handler, Thayer & Duggan, he was in the wealth planning and philanthropy group of Chicago-based Gardner, Carton & Douglas, LLP. He also worked as a senior manager at the personal financial counseling group of Ernst & Young, LLP. He began his law career as an associate with the Treacy Law Group, a tax boutique in Seattle, Wash.

The New Jersey native received his undergraduate degree in International Affairs from The George Washington University in 1995. He went on to earn his law degree from the Gonzaga University School of Law in 1998 and an LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Washington School of Law in 1999.

Home sales in Wellington dropped 33 percent through December 2007 versus the same period in 2006. Median sales price also fell 15 percent from $450,000 to $382,000.
