Hossein Omidian and Mojdeh Moosavinn bought a five-bedroom, 4 bath at 2018 Quail Roost Drive in Weston for $590,000 from Pablo and Ivelisse Santiago on Oct. 8.
The Santiagos paid $323,570 for the property in July 2000.
The 3,116 square foot home was built in 2001.
Mr. Omidian is a senior research scientist at Kos Pharmaceuticals, studying gastroretentive drug delivery systems. Between 1996 and 2001, he was head of the department at Iran Polymer Institute. Prior to joining Kos, he worked for the Department of Industrial and Physical Pharmacy at Purdue University.
He was granted a U.S. patent for his study involving elastic superporous hydrogels.
Mr. Omidian has a Ph.D. in polymers from Brunel University in the U.K. He has a B.S. and a master's from Tehran Polytechnic in Iran.
Home sales in Weston increased less than 1 percent through Dec. 15, 2007 vs. the same period in 2006. The median price slipped $49,000 from $451,000 to $402,000.
