Magazine publisher spends $1.65M in Miami Beach

Medium 82594580ee8635039290a3b72b4c4e53 Jason Binn bought a two-bedroom, three-bath condo at 100 S. Pointe Dr. in Miami Beach from Andrea S. Guinzburg for $1.65 million on Aug. 14.

The Guinzburgs paid $1.3 million for the property in July 2004. The 2,122-square-foot Unit #1610 is part of the Continuum on South Beach condo development, which was built in 2002 in the South Point neighborhood.

Binn is the chief executive officer and founder of Niche Media Holdings, the publisher of magazines such as Gotham and Philadelphia Style. Prior to Niche Media, he co-founded Ocean Drive magazine.

He graduated from Boston University.

Sales at the Continuum on South Beach jumped 440.6 percent from 2007-08, while the median sales price fell 16 percent during that time.

There were 1,756 condo sales in Miami Beach in 2008, with a median sales price of $258,000.
