Dr. Janice Moscoso and George Moscoso bought a four-bedroom, three-bath home at 6630 Sheffield Lane in Miami Beach from Lori D. Weiner, H. Weiner and Arnold M. Weiner for $1.2 million on June 4.

The 3,515-square-foot house, which was built in 1972, is in the La Gorce Island neighborhood.

Dr. Moscoso is an obstetrician and gynecologist at the University of Miami Jackson Memorial Hospital.  She is also an assistant professor of clinical obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Miami.

She earned her B.A. in philosophy with a minor in biology from New York University and her M.D. from the University of Medical Science in Poland. She completed her residencies in obstetrics and gynecology at Brookdale Hospital in Brooklyn and at the University of Miami Jackson Memorial Hospital.

There were 1,725 home sales in Miami Beach in 2008, with a median sales price of $290,000.
