Philanthropists sell in Jupiter for $5.5M

Medium b093ad473864716a65439550afb028f6 Ronald and Arlene Holden sold their six-bedroom, 8.5-bath home at 482 Mariner Drive in Jupiter to Johnny and Terry Gray for $5.5 million on March 7.

The 12,405-square-foot home in Johnathan's Landing/Admiral's Cove was built in 1999. It is located in the Admirals Cove subdivision.

Mr. Holden is the former owner of Holden's Foundation Seeds, a supplier of inbred seed corn founded by his father, Roland Holden. He sold the company to Monsanto in 1997. Mr. and Ms. Holden are actively involved in philanthropic causes and are the founders of the Ruby and Roland Holden Foundation.

Ms. Holden currently sits on the board of directors of University of Iowa Foundation and is a member of the advisory board of the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center. She is also the founder of the Caring Clown program for cancer patients at UIHC.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 865 home sales in Jupiter during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $225,000.
