Rapaporte is a family therapist and educator. She specializes in couples therapy, parenting and family preservation. She was the designer and host of a weekly radio program on sexuality, a counseling and public affairs director at Planned Parenthood in West Palm Beach and a court-appointed special advocate in the foster care review unit of the Boston Juvenile Court.

She has also taught at the Boston University and she was a literary author and therapist at Lucy Stone School.

She graduated from Connecticut College and earned an M.A. in adult education from Boston University.
